Strategy Inc, formerly known as MicroStrategy, announced it purchased 3,015 BTC for $204.1 million in its latest acquisition. The buy was completed last week at an average price of $67,700 per Bitcoin, pushing the firm's total holdings to 720,737 BTC. Strategy’s aggregate cost basis now stands at roughly $54.77 billion.

Accumulation Continues

The purchase extends a strategy Michael Saylor has promoted since 2020 of converting corporate reserves into Bitcoin on an ongoing basis. The firm funded the acquisition through its at‑the‑market equity program, selling shares of its MSTR common stock and preferred shares (STRK, STRC) to generate proceeds. Strategy's average acquisition cost now stands at $75,985 per BTC.

Why Investors Watch It Closely

As the Bitcoin position grows, Strategy’s stock tends to react more to BTC price moves than to changes in its software business. That linkage can amplify returns during rallies, but it can also deepen drawdowns when Bitcoin falls.

Saylor has described Strategy as “the world’s first Bitcoin Treasury Company,” arguing that Bitcoin can serve as a long-term alternative to holding large cash balances.
