SBI Launches ¥10B Tokenized Bond With XRP Rewards, Set for Trading on Osaka Digital Exchange
SBI Holdings is issuing a ¥10 billion (about $65 million) security token bond aimed at retail investors, combining a fixed coupon with XRP reward distributions tied to the size of an investor’s allocation.
The offering branded “SBI START Bonds” is SBI’s first bond issuance in a security token format and will be issued and managed on BOOSTRY’s “ibet for Fin” platform, which is used in Japan for digitally registered securities.
Coupon Terms and XRP Rewards
SBI’s disclosure describes the bonds as three-year securities with an indicative annual yield range of 1.85% to 2.45%, with interest paid twice a year.
Alongside the coupon, eligible investors will receive XRP incentives. The reward level is set at roughly ¥200 in XRP per ¥100,000 invested, with distributions scheduled at issuance and again alongside interest payments through 2029, according to coverage of the product terms and the issuer’s documentation.
Participation is tied to SBI’s crypto brokerage setup: investors need an account with SBI VC Trade to receive XRP rewards under the program structure described in reporting around the launch.
Secondary Trading Set for March 25
SBI said the security token bonds are scheduled to begin secondary trading from March 25, 2026, on the “START” proprietary trading system run by the Osaka Digital Exchange (ODX) – a key step for liquidity, as most corporate bonds in Japan traditionally trade OTC with limited price transparency for smaller investors.
The structure also highlights SBI’s long-running alignment with the XRP ecosystem. SBI has been one of Ripple’s most visible partners in Japan for years, and the group has repeatedly positioned crypto rails as part of its broader financial-services stack.
