Vitalik Buterin outlined a streamlined approach he called “DVT-lite” to make running distributed Ethereum staking easier. In a post this week, he said the Ethereum Foundation is already using the setup to stake 72,000 ETH as a practical test.
Buterin described DVT-lite as a way to reduce the operational burden of running validators by automating cluster formation and configuration, so staking does not require each participant to be a “professional” infrastructure operator. He also said he plans to run his own validators using this approach.
