XRP spot exchange-traded funds posted their best monthly inflow of 2026 in May, collecting more than $84 million in net capital to lift cumulative inflows past $1.39 billion. The milestone, reported this week, was driven in part by a $18.4 million single-day injection that accelerated momentum into the month's final stretch. Approximately 880 million XRP tokens are now custodied across seven U.S. spot ETF products, held by institutional custodians including Coinbase and BitGo, reflecting a substantial shift in how institutions are choosing to gain exposure to the asset.

Seven issuers currently operate U.S. spot XRP ETFs, including Bitwise, Canary Capital, and Franklin Templeton. All three have continued to attract net positive flows even during weeks when broader crypto markets experienced outflows. The consistency of demand from these institutional-grade products points to a growing cohort of asset managers treating XRP ETF exposure as a structured allocation rather than a tactical trade.

With cumulative inflows nearing $1.4 billion, XRP now ranks third among all crypto ETF products globally, behind only Bitcoin and Ethereum. That placement reflects the trajectory XRP has taken since U.S. spot ETFs launched in November 2025, when many analysts questioned whether institutional demand for a non-BTC, non-ETH product would materialize at meaningful scale.

According to data published by Ripple, the scale of institutional accumulation through ETF vehicles has already entered what the company describes as the beginning of a sustained institutional era for XRP. Whether the ongoing inflows eventually translate into sustained price appreciation remains the central question heading into the second half of 2026.
